Trek Mountain Bike Rentals in Nepal: Models and Prices

We are an authorized partner of Trek Bikes in Nepal, and Trek makes most of the bikes in our rental fleet, for good reason. Nepal's trails run from lakeside farm tracks to rocky descents off 5,000 m passes, and a bike that climbs well, brakes hard, and can be fixed with genuine parts matters more here than almost anywhere.

We are Nepal MTB Adventures, and we rent nine Trek models from our workshop in Pokhara, from the entry-level Marlin hardtails to the Remedy enduro bike and the Rail electric mountain bike, and we rent the same bikes for rides in Kathmandu at the same rates. Why Rent a Trek Mountain Bike in Nepal?

The Himalayan foothills are hard on bikes. Long climbs, loose rock, river crossings, and steep descents find every weak part. Trek bikes stand up to that, and renting one here has three advantages over bringing your own:

• Genuine parts close by. As an authorized Trek partner, we keep Trek parts in our workshop, so a broken derailleur hanger or worn brake pads can be replaced with the right part, not a copy.

• The right size. Trek matches wheel size to frame size on the Marlin range, so the XS and S frames run 27.5-inch wheels and the larger frames run 29-inch. Our fleet runs from small frames up to XL, including an XL Fuel EX for tall riders.

• Bikes built for the terrain. Every Trek in the fleet runs hydraulic disc brakes, our hardtails use RockShox forks, and the full-suspension bikes carry dropper posts for the steep descents.

Trek Marlin 6, 7 and 8: the hardtails most riders need

The Marlin is Trek's trail hardtail and the backbone of our fleet. We rent the 2026 Marlin 6, 7, and 8 Gen 3 from USD 30 to 40 a day, and an earlier Marlin 7 at USD 30. The Marlin 6 has a coil fork and the simplest setup, while the Marlin 7 and 8 add air-sprung forks and 12-speed gears for rougher descents. The 2026 Marlins are rated by Trek for up to 136 kg, rider and kit included.

A Marlin is all the bike you need for the Pame valley, the loop around Phewa Lake, the Sarangkot climb, and the World Peace Pagoda singletrack. In the hills around Kathmandu, it handles the Shivapuri Nagarjun trails, the Nagarkot descent, Chandragiri and the village trails of the valley rim just as well, and it is a good bike for the quiet hill roads around Bandipur, between Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Trek X-Caliber 8: a faster hardtail

Trek's cross-country race hardtail, at USD 35 a day. Rent it if you want to cover more ground in a day than a Marlin comfortably allows. It suits newer riders and experienced ones alike, on forest trails, gravel roads and village paths.

Trek Procaliber 6: the long-climb specialist

At USD 45 a day, the lightest-climbing hardtail we rent, with a 120 mm air fork on 29-inch wheels. Rent it for long climbing days, such as the ridge rides out to Panchase or a full loop over Methlang and Anadu Hill.

Trek Fuel EX 7 Gen 6: the all-round trail bike

The full-suspension bike we recommend most for multi-day mountain routes, at USD 75 a day. It climbs efficiently at altitude, stays comfortable over long, rough days, and comes with a dropper post, which is exactly what riding the Annapurna Circuit and the high desert of Mustang asks of a bike. It comes in XL for tall riders.

Trek Remedy 8: for steep and technical descents

Our enduro bike, at USD 75 a day, with long-travel suspension and a dropper post. Rent it for the shuttle-assisted gravity trails that drop about 1,000 m from Sarangkot, or if you come to Nepal for the descents.

Trek Rail 5 Gen 3: the electric option

A full-suspension e-MTB with a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, at USD 100 a day. The motor only helps when you pedal, so it still rides like a mountain bike. Best Trek Bike by Region in Nepal

Each part of Nepal asks something different of a bike. This is the Trek we recommend for each region we ride.

• Pokhara Valley: Marlin 7 or 8 Gen 3. Farm tracks, lakeside trails, and forest singletrack between 800 and about 1,600 m. A Marlin is light and quick on climbs like Sarangkot. Take the Remedy 8 for the gravity trails, or the Rail 5 if you want help on the climbs.

• Kathmandu Valley: Procaliber 6 or Marlin 8 Gen 3 for forest climbs and descents on the valley rim, from 1,400 to about 2,700 m. The long climbs in Shivapuri and up to Chandragiri reward a light, efficient hardtail. Take the Fuel EX 7 for the Nagarkot descents.

• Annapurna Circuit: Fuel EX 7 Gen 6

• Rough jeep road and singletrack over Thorong La at 5,416 m, with long, rocky descents. Full suspension keeps you comfortable and in control over many hard days.

• Tilicho Lake: Fuel EX 7 Gen 6. A high, loose trail from Manang to Shree Kharka, where the bikes stay and you walk to the lake. You want traction and comfort on steep ground at altitude.

• Lower Mustang: Fuel EX 7 Gen 6 Dry, windy high desert around Jomsom, Kagbeni and Muktinath, with loose rock and sandy trails. The Fuel EX soaks up the rocky Kali Gandaki descents. A Marlin 8 Gen 3 works if you stay on the jeep track.

• Upper Mustang: Fuel EX 7 Gen 6. Remote canyon trails to Lo Manthang, ridden on a guided trip only. You spend many days far from any bike shop, so a strong, comfortable trail bike matters most.

• Everest region via Pikey Peak: Fuel EX 7 Gen 6: Sherpa villages, rhododendron forest, and mountain trails outside the national park. Steep, technical riding where full suspension earns its price.

• Bandipur and the mid-hills: Marlin 7 Gen 3 or X-Caliber 8. Quiet hill roads and village trails between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Both bikes are efficient on long road and gravel days.

• Chitwan: Marlin 6 Gen 3 or Marlin 7. Flat forest and village trails in the southern lowlands. With no big climbs or descents, the simplest hardtail is enough.

Renting a Trek in Pokhara and Kathmandu

Most riders collect their Trek from our workshop at Baidam, Hallan Chowk, Lakeside, where we fit it to you, and you take a short test ride before you leave. If your trip starts in Kathmandu, we rent the same Trek bikes there at the same rates, sized and set up before you arrive. Kathmandu suits cultural rides past old Newar towns such as Bhaktapur, as well as the forest trails of the valley rim.

Most renters ride self-guided, choosing their own routes and pace. Book ahead in October and November and from March to May, especially if you want an XL frame or a full-suspension Trek, because those go first. Before you set off, check the bike yourself, carry plenty of water, and pick trails that match your skill.

What Comes With Your Trek Rental

• Included: the bike, a fitted helmet, a basic repair kit with a pump, tube, and tire levers, and a fit and adjustment before you leave.

• On request: knee and elbow pads, gloves, a rack or panniers, a phone or GPS mount, and a lock.

• No security deposit. You need a valid ID and must be at least 16 years old.

• Damage: normal trail wear is on us. Crash damage is charged at the cost of the genuine Trek part, and we show you the part first.

How to Rent a Trek

1. Pick your Trek and dates on our rental page, or send us your route and we will suggest one.

2. Send your height and riding plans, so we can have the right frame size and setup ready.

3. Collect it at our Lakeside workshop, have it delivered to your Pokhara hotel, or pick it up for Kathmandu rides.

4. Take a short test ride while we fit the bike and set the suspension.

5. Ride, and call us if anything goes wrong on the trail.

6. Bring it back at the agreed time. We check it over with you, and you are done.

Long-Term Trek Rental for Multi-Day Routes

Many riders hire a Trek for a week or more to ride a big route on their own. The Fuel EX 7 is the usual choice for the Annapurna Circuit and the ride down from Jomsom and Muktinath through Lower Mustang, because it stays comfortable over many rough days. Rentals of 10 days or more get our long-term rate, and we can help with jeep transport to the start of your route and back. Upper Mustang is a restricted area that can only be ridden on a guided trip.

Tips for Riding a Rented Trek

• Check the bike every morning: brakes, tyres, wheels, gears and bolts.

• Wear the helmet we give you on the road sections too. Carry plenty of water, especially on the Sarangkot and Chandragiri climbs, and more in the hot months of April and May.

• Match the trail to your skill, not your ambition, using our trail grades. Start on an easy ride and build up. Lock the bike whenever you stop in town.

• Take a guide for one day if you want to find the singletrack that most first-timers miss.
