Enduro/Downhill trip in Pokhara, Nepal
Tour Information
Overview

Pokhara is one of Asia's best emerging spots for shuttled gravity riding, and this is the day that proves it. We take you and your bike to the top. You can reach the top by jeep and cable car, and then ride down two of the valley's best descents in a single day with barely any climbing. It is all about the descending.
You get around 1,000 m of descent across the day, split between the two most popular downhill trails in Pokhara. The Sarangkot downhill is a blistering fire-and-dirt-road descent with flowy and technical sections over loose rocks and roots. The World Peace Pagoda singletrack is the real deal: a black-diamond forest trail with switchbacks, roots, rocks, and steep stone staircases that finishes over a suspension bridge into town.
Everything is included: a dual-suspension enduro bike, a full-face helmet, gloves, and protective gear; and three shuttle runs, so you can fly into Pokhara with nothing and still have a proper gravity day. It is built for confident intermediate to advanced riders, and the difficulty can be dialed up or down to suit you.

The Trails: Two of Pokhara's Best Descents
Sarangkot Downhill (~700 to 800 m of descent). From the top of Sarangkot (1,592 m), the ridge the sunrise crowds and paragliders come for, you drop into a fast, fire-and-dirt-road descent. It flows, but it keeps you honest with technical sections, loose rocks, and roots, while the big mountain views run the whole way down.
World Peace Pagoda Singletrack (~350 m, black diamond). This is Pokhara's signature gravity trail, listed as a black-diamond descent: about 4 km of 100% singletrack from the Peace Pagoda down toward the lake. Expect flowing sections, tight switchbacks, roots, rocks, and steep stone staircases that require real bike control, finishing over a suspension bridge into town. It gets slippery in the damp, so we ride it in the dry.
The final run to Lakeside. A last descent through forest and dirt roads, with viewpoints over Phewa Lake, drops you back to Lakeside.
The Uplift: Jeep + Cable Car
The point of a gravity day is to descend, not grind uphill, so we haul you and your bike to the top. We use a mix of a jeep shuttle and the Annapurna cable car, which carries bikes on a separate carrier, to get you to the top of Sarangkot or the Peace Pagoda, depending on the day and the group. Three shuttle runs are included, and you can add more for an extra charge.
Who This Is For
This is a gravity day, built for riders who want to descend. It suits you if you:
Are a confident intermediate to advanced rider, comfortable on technical singletrack (roots, rocks, switchbacks, steep steps)
Want big descents with the climbing taken care of by the shuttle
Are happy on a dual-suspension bike on a black-diamond trail
Newer to shuttle gravity? It can still work for a fit, capable intermediate: the difficulty is adjustable, your guide picks the lines, and steep features like the Pagoda staircases can be walked around. It is not a ride for a first-timer or a leisure cyclist; for that, see our more relaxed lakeside tours.
The Bike and Protective Gear
You ride a dual-suspension enduro bike (Scott Ransom, Trek Remedy 8, or Scott Genius-940, from our all-mountain fleet), set up and checked before you roll. We provide a helmet, gloves, and protective gear.
Bring sturdy closed biking shoes, comfortable riding clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water. Your pads and padded shorts are welcome if you have them.
Safety and Support
Gravity riding has real risk, and this day is set up to manage it.
Gear and a briefing first. You get protective gear, a bike check, and a safety briefing before you ride.
Your guide reads the lines. An experienced local gravity guide leads, picks safe lines through the technical sections, and sets the difficulty for your group.
You can walk anything. Steep or technical features, especially the Peace Pagoda staircases, can be walked; no pressure.
We ride when it’s dry. The technical trails are slippery when wet, so we run this trip in the dry season and avoid the monsoon.
Modest fitness, low altitude. The shuttle does the climbing, and the trails sit between about 800 and 1,600 m, so there is no altitude concern and you do not need great fitness, just the handling skills for the descents.
The Scenery
It is a gravity day first, but the setting is stunning. You drop through Gurung and Brahmin and Dalit villages, rice terraces, and suspension bridges, with the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre, the Fishtail, across the valley and the occasional troop of monkeys in the forest. A local Nepali lunch breaks up the two descents.
