Starting from Besisahar, this trip is characterized by awesome mountain trails and sceneries along with one of the highest pass of the world: The Throngla pass (5416m) which has been a dream for the trekkers and high altitude mountain bikers all around the world.
It is a perfect destination for those who want to experience the authentic Nepalese culture, geography and the towering mountains.
The hiking part lasts all the way up to Muktinath (3810m) via Throng-La Pass. After Muktinath another adventure begins. The biking section leads you through one of the most popular single tracks in Mustang regions, the Lupra pass.
As you descend further down, you will be riding through the deepest gorge of the world formed in between the two 8000+m Mountains, Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m).
Along the way, you will see beautiful villages, monasteries, temples, rivers, waterfalls, Himalayan desert, sub-tropical and alpine forest.

Today is our big day to start the adventure. We will wake up early in the morning and get ready for the trip. We will drive by Jeep to Nadi via Besisahar, have lunch on the way then hike to Syange.
Distance: 15 km aprox.On this great hike we cross over suspension bridges, villages, paddies. While crossing through changes in landscape and there we may meet the hiker, donkeys and local people and waterfall along the way. We will feel that our gradient is getting higher than yesterday as we are heading to the Himalayan region. The Marshyangi River Valley will be narrower as we ascend. We can choose to either trek on people walking trails or Jeep trails. We will be staying in a local guest house.
Hiking distance: 16 Km aprox.We will start the day after breakfast and again battle with up hills through the Marshyangi River Valley. We will walk through apple orchards, villages and terraces on mule track and jeep trails into the pine forest. After a steep uphill at Danakyu the trails will be a bit smoother and we will reach the headquarters of Manag District. At Chame, we will be rewarded by views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. Here in Chame, we will have internet access to be in touch with your near and dear ones. Staying in a local guest house.
Distance: 17.5 Km approx.Leaving Chame behind and following pine forest trails toward Himalayas, there will be spectacular views all around. We will be smiling not caring much the challenge of up hills until Dhikurpokhari. After this village, the trails will be a bit smoother. The view will be even better as we are climbing. We can feel and smell the fragrant Himalayan pine forest with stunning views unfolding all around us. It’s an amazing experience.
Distance: 17 Km approx.Today is an easy trail compared to the previous days challenging trails. Now it will be mostly flat along the river and we will feel the difference from the pine forest. We will have opportunity to see monasteries, Himalayan farm land. In Humbde, we will cross through one of the highest commercial airports in the world. On scenic trails, we will enjoy the joyful hiking up to Manang.
Distance: 19 Km aproxToday is easy day to get acclimatized to the altitude. Although it is a rest day, we will do a short hike up to 4000 to 4500 meters to adapt to the height for the next days. There is also a short excursion around the area, staying active is highly recommended. We will also do some sightseeing to the Ice Lake, Monastery and Choorten.
We are heading to the real Himalayan trails as we leave the forest, greenery and low altitude behind. So be prepared for the less oxygen and harder track. Trails will be harder comparatively to the previous days but take it easy and enjoy to beauty of the Himalayas. It’s an immense opportunity of your life to admire the glory of mountain. We will take is easy and slowly get used to with altitude hike. We will see the grazing Yaks on the way to Yak Kharka.
Biking time: 4 to 5 hoursIt’s the shortest day in distance but harder trails to go due to altitude and narrow rocky trails. It will be hard to see greenery unless you are in monsoon time. We will be walking along river after crossing a little bridge then we will climb that takes us to the Thorong-la Phedi. Phedi means the bottom part of the climb.
Biking time: 3 to 4 hoursToday is the biggest and most challenging day as we have to wake up early in the morning around 4 am and get ready to feel the altitude. Being ready with our gear, we will start our hard journey but we will take it easy. We always advise our guest to enjoy each and every step as you rarely step at this height in your life. The effect of the altitude can be relieved by the jaw dropping views from the Thorong-La Pass. Once we reach the top, we will enjoy the view, and then trek down to Muktinath.
Distance: 19 Km aproxToday our hiking ends and riding starts! We will visit temples, monasteries and the eternal flame and then start biking. We are very cool as we have already finished the most challenging parts of our hike! Now it’s time to enjoy the rides through Mustang Valley and smile at the almighty Himalayas. We have the option today either to choose the best single tracks in Mustang, the Lupra Valley or just follow easy Jeep trails with amazing views. We will ride on the skyline through temples, monasteries, prayer flags and the Kali Gandaki River Valley. We will be staying in the Apple capital tonight.
Distance: 30 Km approx.Today, we are heading toward the low land, leaving thin air behind. Our lungs will get more air and you will feel better with seeing different topography and geology. We will ride through authentic Nepali foothill villages on some jeep track or single trails along the Kali Gandaki River Valley, the deepest gorge in the world. We will end our ride today at hot spring called Tatopani. Natural hot spring can be a remedy to treat our tired muscle, just go and immerse you into the pond and get relaxed.
Distance: 44 Km aproxFrom Tatopani we will ride through Kali Gandaki river bed along the dirt road - we have no optional trails. We will roll through villages, temples and bushes. This will be our final ride in the Mustang region. Once we reach Beni our van will be waiting to transfer us to Sarangkot then ride down to Pokhara.
Distance: 32 to 36 Km approx.Rest day in Pokhara or fly/ drive back to Kathmandu (by tourist bus, car or jeep based on group size) or extend your holiday.
