Australian camp then known as a ‘Thulo Kharka’ by locals, means bigger pasture land.
Since Australian people made a camp while trekking to ABC and Annapurna Sanctuary around at 50s then the Thulo kharkha slowly became popular among travellers from all over the world.
The tour offers rewarding views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna (8091m) and Mount Fishtail along with the views of cascading terraces, paddies and fast flowing mountain rivers.
Along the way we will ride through Dhampus, Lawang and Khani villages, occupied by Gurung and Dalit people. We will have chances to observe their culture and authentic lifestyles.

The ride begins from our office; we leave lakeside behind then the trail lead toward Sarankot which offer panoramic views of Phewa Lake, Pokhara valley, Annapurna range and Harpan valley. After this we will ride along a jeep track though Padeli, Gyarjati and we will stop for at Naundanda for the lunch. The ride then follows the wider trail for about 15 minutes, steep up. Gradually, the trail forces us to push and carry the bike for about 30 minutes until we catch up the ride able trail to Australian camp for another 15 minutes.
Waking up early for the sunrise, offers anyone with breathe catching view of the Annapurna’s and the Manaslu range. We will start our ride after a breakfast through the lovely forest. Around 30 minutes of descend through the technical trail followed by some stairs leads to Dhampus. As soon as we descend down to Dhampus the wider trail awaits us to lead to Khani Gaun then becomes more technical until we reach to the suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge the ride becomes easier. We will enter to the authentic Gurung village known as Lawang. The village looks more beautiful with its typical houses with the slate roofs. After some cups of the organic tea produced at the village, the trail then descends down to the Mardi river valley where we will have lunch and then back to Pokhara.
