Earthquake relief support 2015 - Pokhara Mountain Bike Adventure

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Our pride and contribution in social responsibility

Free MTB training for local youth since the beginning of our company

At the beginning of our business operations we were struggling to establish as a mountain biking tour operator. At the time there were not many bike riders, not many businesses and organization like us which made it hard to get skillful manpower like we have now. We thought why not to offer education and skill to the local community so that they could get involved in the business and be a part and get the benefit?  It was quite a challenge to get this new concept across to the community as well as the tourism industry.

Nepal still is more popular as trekking destination rather than mountain biking. We decided to offer free mountain biking training and coaching to local youths particularly from lower social background to those who otherwise would have no access into the tourism industry due to their socio-economic background. We selected some youth/kids that were keen to ride bicycles. We are proud today those kids became a national champion, South Asian Downhill champions as well as many professional MTB bikers and well-disciplined community members with an understanding of MTB and outdoor sector.

Volunteering to built school in Rural Kutumsa Village

Kutumsa is a village where there is no electricity, water supply, road access and basic needs for people. The people living there are indigenous Magar and Dalit people who usually have no access to mainstream of society and lead a marginalized life. Children had no basic facilities in the school and there was a lack of food, books, stationery and uniforms.  We at Pokhara mountain bike adventure contributed to a school building project along with our kind customers and also volunteers. Today we are proud to see a well-established school with better facilities & resources. Children have books, uniforms, snacks, stationery and sport equipment.

Kutumsa village has no health post nearby and people living here have no health care access in the village. If they got sick they first visit a traditional healer rather than a health post. We organized a general health camp that focused on gynecological health, eye and general health checkup for the local people.

Covid 19 1st lockdown relief to needy people

Covid 19 has made all business shutdowns, no work and no pay was the trend in Nepal. People who were dependent on daily wages were highly affected. Having no job had more of an impact than Covid 19 and at that time we had not many cases in our communities because the government decided on strict lockdown. At that time being a responsible company we contributed to food relief for needy people in order to support local community during this hardship.
