ENDURO - FREERIDE NEPAL ITINERARY :
DAY 1 :
Take a deep breath as you fly into Tribhuvan airport. You get a glimpse of what is to follow as you skirt the northern and peer down on an endless chain of White peaks. The Himalayas stretch over 2000 miles from Afghanistan in the west to Assam in eastern India. On a clear day, flying into Katmandu is an unforgettable experience.
After your arriving, you will be taken by minibus to your hotel, on the way to the airoport; we pass through of small shanty district. For many this is an experience in itself as the first sights and smells of the city take hold of you.
Meet with the group leader and the other participants, time to fix bike and explore the city

Steep Downhill, very technical and a lot of switchbacks
Evening transfer to Pokhara
DAY 5 & 6: Pokhara Valley
During these two days we are going to experience some of the best downhill in Nepal, the base of Pokhara Mountain bike Club, a lot of different variety of trails in magnificent scenery...
We will reach the top with van
DAY 7-8-9 & 10: Kaligandaki Gorge and Luppra Valley
We take an early morning flight into the heart of the Himalayas, landing at a remote airstrip in the village of Jomsom (2800m). Although only half an hour in flying time from Pokhara, we are transported into a different world. At 6km deep, the Kali Gandaki valley dissects the Himalaya. It has been an ancient salt trading route connecting the Indian subcontinent with the Tibetan plateau for hundreds of years.
Getting off the plane, the lunar landscape in Jomsom is in stark contrast to the verdant Pokhara valley. For the next four days, we ride through a diverse range of climates, topography, culture, religions and communities. This is rugged terrain with about 90% of the time spent in the saddle. There is no support vehicle for this leg of the tour ( we will have porter for caring extra clothes...). The riding is technical and at times demanding as we steer round boulders, under rock cornices, trough tight passes and over suspension bridges perched hundreds of feet above the Gandaki River. As we pass between Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m) we are 6,000m deep in the gorge - a truly unforgettable experience.
The ethnic make-up, and hence the type of lodge accommodation and food available on route, shifts as we head south. In Jomsom, much of the local community is Tibatan origin, and as we drop down into the tree line and beyond into the basin of the Pokhara valley, the round Tibetan features give way to the more angular Ando-Aryan features of the Indian subcontinent.
Day 7: Jomsom - kagbeni
A short day biking to reach slowly Kagbeni (3000m) as we have to acclimate our body to the altitude, and the landscape is so magic that no one wants to hurry up...
DAY 8: Mukthinath - Luppra Valley- Eklebati
From Kagbeni we will climb to Mukthinath ( 3800m) where we will visit the famous temple of Lord Muktinath, it is believed that all miseries/sorrows are relieved once you visit this temple ( Mukti = Nirvana, Nath = God ), after Mukthinath we will continue climbing to a summit ( 4200m), from there starts a really smooth downhill in a mineral dessert where we will reach Elkelbati for the night.
DAY 9: EKLEBATI - MARPHA
For this third day in mountain we will go through remote village, for the stronger of us it will be possible to reach the summit (around 4000 meters) by pedaling, for the other one we will push our bike but the scenery is so amazing that no one will be in hurry...After enjoy a panoramic view of the Mustang valley, we will enjoy one smooth single-track down to Marpha where will pass the night
DAY 10 : MARPHA - TATOPANI
A long biking day where slowly we will quit the mountain mineral terrain to reach the vegetation of the lower altitude area
Nice trail on the way trough some ancient tibetain village, some technical stairs
We will stay the night in Tatopani, famous for its hot springs and their curative powers...
DAY 11 : TATOPANI - POKHARA
We will finish this trip by an easy day where will have to pedal little bit more than the previous ones
On the way before reach Pokhara we will have some option for last downhill....

DAY 14: International flight home....
The transfer to Kathmandu (by plane) will be on day 13 afternoon or day 14 morning depends of the time of your international flight to go back home ( if you decided to leave Nepal...)
MOUNTAINBIKE check list:
In general, try to keep the weight and bulk to a minimum by bringing clothes made from lightweight material. Don't pack too much clothing; a few changes will be all you need. As 'Enduro-Freeride Nepal' traverses the three main topographical zones of Nepal (the high mountains, the mid-hills and the Gangetic plain), you will experience many different climatic zones on the trip, and should be prepared for both hot daytime conditions and subzero nighttime conditions.
Whilst we recommend that you bring your own bike with you (sometimes you will have to pedal, its better double ring...), we have a number of Commencal for hire and that could be an occasion to try a new model.
